ABOUT US - THE NEIGHBOORHOOD WATCH

What is Neighborhood Watch?
Neighborhood Watch is a program where citizens, in cooperation with the police, actively recognize and report possible crime generators. The goal is to prevent crime and to help make our neighborhood safe.
Citizen volunteers are trained to recognize suspicious persons or activities and report those to the police department. Alert citizens act as the eyes and ears of the police and create an effective partnership that can reduce crime and make your community a safer place.
Recently, a resident called the police to report a traffic accident and the fact that the driver left the scene of the accident. Thanks to the person who actually witnessed the accident, the resident was able to give a complete description to the police, who were then able to apprehend the hit and run driver. Please remember that it is important to call the police if there is an accident!
Four Seasons has a reputation of being one of the safest communities in Herndon. We have worked hard to keep the crime rate down so that our residents can feel safe and know that it is a wonderful place to raise a family.
We must also watch out for suspicious vehicles in the neighborhood. If you see something that looks suspicious and/or a crime being committed, PLEASE immediately call the Herndon Police Department (703-435-6846). YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS BY STATING THAT YOU DO NOT WISH TO LEAVE YOUR NAME OR PHONE NUMBER.
It is only by being aware, and willing to work as a community, that we can keep Four Seasons a safe place to live.
Neighborhood Watch is not spying on your neighbors! It is NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS! It is keeping our neighborhood a safe and fun place for our children, friends, and families.
Four Seasons has periodic Neighborhood Watch meetings. ALL RESIDENTS ARE WELCOME. Each meeting presents a topic of interest to the community and one that will help make our community a safer place to live. The dates and topics are always published in the Fallout. My name is Diane Davis and I am the Four Seasons Neighborhood Watch Program Coordinator. The Four Seasons Neighborhood Watch Program is in need of your help. There are 297 Townhomes and 386 Single Family homes in our watch area. Presently, there are only 11 Block Captains to watch all of these homes. If you are interested in becoming involved or want more information, please call the Clubhouse (703-437-1811) and leave your contact information (name, phone number, and email address (if possible) with the staff.
The time commitment is minimal and the benefits to the community are great.
As part of Neighborhood Watch, we help out with the annual Nation Night Out celebration.
National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the US, held the first Tuesday of August. The event has been held annually since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada. It is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch, and anti-crime efforts.
National Night Out is a national program to promote safety and neighborhood awareness. The Four Seasons Neighborhood participates in this event. We host a picnic and pool party with raffles and give-aways. It is for all residents and is free. The Herndon Police, the Town Council and other local elected officials attend the event. In the past few years, the Fairfax County helicopter has landed on our ball fields and the Herndon Police Motorcycle Squad has demonstrated their skills.
